About BAT Racing

Branford Around the Buoys (BAT) is a friendly Wednesday-night racing series held on the western end of Long Island Sound, based out of Branford, CT.

Since its founding, BAT Racing has brought together sailors of all skill levels for low-key, competitive buoy racing. Whether you're aboard a cruiser-racer or a dedicated one-design, there's a fleet for you.

Racing

Racing typically runs Wednesday evenings from late spring through end of August, and Sundays in September and October. The start is in the neighborhood of Cow and Calf, just off Branford Harbor, and the course is set around a series of buoys in the area. Two classes race: cruising and spinnaker. Wednesday races start around 6pm, and Sunday around 11am. Current Sailing Instructions and Notice to Competitors are available in the Members area (log in to access).

Membership

Membership is open to any skipper or crew who wants to participate. To join, create an account and your application will be reviewed by the race committee.
